Feature ImageZoo Artist: Anna Bours

I just love the fun and fashionable illustration of Anna Bours, one of our newest artists to join the Zoo. Read on to learn more about Anna’s most recent favorite project, which is doing work for Company Magazine UK. Here is what Anna said:

The ‘High-street Edit!’ project was definitely one of the most exciting projects I’ve worked on recently. They’ve asked me to be the sole Illustrator of High-Street Edit SS 2012!

This is a special high fashion edition from Company Magazine UK, their so-called bi-annual fashion bible, packed with everything you need to know about (and buy!) for the new Spring Summer season 2012.

My job was to illustrate the hottest SS12 Runway pieces and to visualize the newest hair & beauty trends for this summer. After having received the briefing and pictures of the hottest runway and beauty trends from Company, I couldn’t wait to start sketching as i was so excited to be asked for this project. As it had to be done in a relative short time, I decided to do the whole process in a digital way. I made some rough sketches of the poses I wanted the models to have and then, I drew and colored them in Illustrator. For the finishing touch, I added some shading and illumination effects in Adobe Photoshop.

Some of the illustrations took me a long time as the prints were very detailed like the Versace, Balenciaga and D&G pieces. For me it was very important to visualize the prints in a very realistic and accurate way as most of the SS12 prints are bold and rich in details. That is why my favourite piece is the D&G Illustration.  This girl really rocks the D&G outfit!

It was nice to focus more on Runway Illustrations as normally I make editorial illustrations based on a theme or story. Next to that, I also make Textile prints, Patterns, Lookbooks and Ad’s.
