Glass Paintings

Using rods of glass, artist Loren Stump melts them together and then slices it to reveal detailed illustrations and patterns. The one pictured above is his own rendering of Leonardo da Vinci’s Virgin on the Rocks. This process of glass art, called Murrine, began in the Mideast around 4,000 years ago and for over 20 years, self-taught Loren has been perfecting his craft. Click to see more of his work.
