Typewriter Art

Typewriters may be a thing of the past but for Artist Paul Smith, typewriters are much more than something you would find at a thrift shop. Smith, who was born with severe Cerebral Palsy, makes his creations in an Oregon nursing home. Using a typewriter, he creates masterpieces using letters, numbers, and symbols to intricately detail his art. He even recreated the Mona Lisa, and if you look closely in this video, he uses pound signs (or hashtags, as we refer to it today) to create the shading in Mona Lisa’s face.
